DANCE CLASSICS’ PASSION IS OUR STUDENTS!

Here at Dance Classics, we inspire creative expression and foster a joy of movement and music. Our highly trained and skilled faculty works together to develop a passion for dance in their students and to encourage them to shine. Exceptional classic training is emphasized through the development and advancement of proper dance technique. Our classes encourage imagination, musicality, performance, physical fitness, discipline, hard work, and FUN!

Opening Dance Classics in Murfreesboro is a passion project for our Artistic Director, Jeana Laney. Mrs. Laney is an accomplished dancer with 34 years of experience and has dedicated her life to the art of dance. Growing up, she spent most afternoons in the dance studio taking classes or rehearsing for an upcoming performance. Jeana danced with the International Ballet Theatre Company and attended several prestigious summer programs, such as Interlochen Fine Arts Camp.

After high school, Jeana went on to receive a dance scholarship from Western Michigan University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance. She has studied under many famous dance artists such as the late David Howard, Daniel Duell, Donald Sutherland, Victoria Simon, Marcus Galante, Fiona Furstner, Donald McKayle, Tony Calucci, and Billy Siegenfeld, to name a few.

Twenty-three years ago Mrs. Laney began to share her love of dance through teaching. She has taught at several dance schools including master classes and workshops for various companies as well as serving on the faculty of Dance at Saint Mary’s College in Notre Dame, IN. Jeana has used her talents to choreograph for college and high school musicals, ballet productions, high school choral groups, and fashion shows. Today Jeana shares her love of the art of dance through our creative curriculum with the hope of instilling a lifelong love of dance in each student.
