Christmas break is here, but how can you hone the skills you learn in class over the break? We know many dance lovers will be itching to get back in class before break ends, so here are some activities your young dancer can do during the holidays:

Practice Makes Perfect

One of the best ways to get out excess energy and ensure you are ready when class starts is to practice moves and routines learned in class. Maybe your young dancer can show a traveling family member their jazz routine. Always remember to stretch and warm up before practicing!

A Holiday Performance

If your child is uber-creative, they could choreograph a holiday dance and musical number. This Christmas play/recital could include dance, singing, acting, and more centered around the holidays! They can create props and use items around your home for costumes. Then, best of all, they can show the whole family their creation while they’re in town for the holidays!

Watch Holiday Ballets

While we encourage practice and activity during days off from dance, it is also important to rest during the holidays! A way to incorporate dance into your child’s rest time could be to watch holiday-themed ballets like The Nutcracker. A quick Google search can suggest some other ballets set around the holidays.

We hope you and your loved ones enjoy a wonderful holiday season. Thank you for a great year, and we can’t wait to see you in 2024! For more information about classes we offer, please call us at 615-378-7152.
