Dance classes are a lot of fun, but the best dancers don’t stop working outside of class. If you want to reach your full potential as a dancer, then you need to put the work in at home also. Here are some exercises that you can do at home to become a better dancer:

Stretches

Flexibility is one of the most important parts of dancing, and if you want to improve your flexibility, you need to stretch every day.

Cardio

As every dancer knows, dance takes a lot of endurance. The best way to build better endurance is by doing cardio. If you start doing cardio outside of dance classes, you will begin to notice a difference in your dancing and you will do your moves with more ease.

Squats and Lunges

If you want to be a great dancer, you need strong legs. To build strength in your legs, practice squats and lunges at home. This will also help you improve your balance and flexibility. When squats get too easy for you, add some weight or try jumping squats.

Ab Workouts

Core strength is everything to a dancer. If you start working out your core at home, you will see results in all parts of your dancing. Try doing exercises like scissor kicks, crunches, sit-ups, and other core exercises.  Your entire body will benefit from ab workouts, and you will begin to see results in your dancing if you stay consistent.

Dance takes constant work, but the results will be worth the effort. If you are interested in improving your dance skills, call us today at (615) 378-7152.
